Neighbourhood Overview.

Bounded by Bloor St W, south to The Queensway, High Park (city’s largest green space) west to South Kingsway The area was named Swansea because of its rolling landscape and twisting roads that were reminiscent of a Wales’ village by the name. The majority of the lands of ‘upper’ Swansea are 30 to 40 feet higher than Lake Ontario, with steep hillsides along Grenadier Pond, Humber River and Rennie Pond. At the end of Windermere we find clusters of low to mid rise condominium buildings that are now overshadowed by new condominiums and town homes that have begun to line the Queensway and Lakeshore Characterized by a mix of residential housing types built between 1905-1935, Swansea’s high-end homes are located either at the western edge of High Park overlooking Grenadier Pond, or on Riverside Dr and the Brule Gardens enclave bordering the Humber River. Also a handful of high-end condos and lofts. Access to both Queensway, Bloor St and South Kingsway for shops, public transit, highways, parks cafes, shops, bars & restaurants.
